Analysis of A Walk to Remember I. Author Introduction/ Writing Style: The author of A Walk to Remember is Nicholas Sparks. He was born on December 31,1965. According to Wikipedia he is an internationally best selling American author. He writes novels with themes that include Christianity, love, tragedy, and fate. He is currently the author of 12 published novels; including: Message in a Bottle, A Walk to Remember, and The Notebook. He lives in New Bern, North Carolina with his wife Catherine and their five children. I believe his purpose for writing this piece was to show how opinions and special feelings for certain people can change in a short period of time. I think this because we seem to judge people before getting to know†¦show more content†¦This dream just happens to be getting married. It was the hardest thing that Jamie ever had to do in her life. As most would think it is a simple thing to do, for Jamie it was the complete opposite. Jamie did not want to end up losing her dreams, so she held on to them. Landon was there t o help her accomplish her goal. Throughout the book the title may make you think of two people happily in love just going for an ordinary walk in the park. I know that was what I assumed but i turned out to be completely wrong. A Walk to Remember has a much deeper meaning. Sometimes you never realize how much the small walk can truly become for some people. In out lives and many others their walk down the aisle for their wedding will be remembered. In the book it was not just remembered as a walk, it was remembered as the last step in completing Jamie Sullivans hopes and dreams. IV. Character Analysis of the Protagonist: Landon Carter is a 17 year old boy in his Senior year of high school at Beaufort High. He has a wry sense of humor and is somewhat smarter than most of the other characters. During the year of 1958, he unexpectedly falls head over heels in love with a girl named Jamie Sullivan. He later on finds out that she is very sick with a terminal illness. (Landon has no knowledge of this sickness until the end of the book.)
